Lars Mikkelsen

Lars MikkelsenAt the age of 27, he was enrolled at the National Theatre School of Denmark from which he graduated in 1995. In addition to his performance as The Killing's lead actor, he also appeared in two other internationally acclaimed Danish drama series: Those Who Kill, and Borgen III. He also appeared in episodes of BBC drama Sherlock as Charles Augustus Magnussen (blackmailer). In the American TV series House of Cards, his role was that of the President of Russia. He was awarded an International Emmy Award for 2018 for his role on the Danish TV drama Herrens Veje. It was shown in the UK in 2019 under the name Ride Upon the Storm. Mikkelsen is fluent in English, Swedish, German as well as Danish as well as his native language. He also has developed several accents. According to Mikkelsen's account that he and his brother learned English through Monty Python records.
